Been in a Car Accident Recently?

Getting in a car accident (even a minor one) can really turn your whole life upside down. You now have to deal with insurance companies, have your car repaired, or buy a new one if it's been written off and possibly contend with an injury, because people rarely leave an accident completely unscathed. Luckily, many people will go their doctor for their neck or back injuries (for whiplash especially), however, Here's the secret, 99% of people need chiropractic care after a major accident, and most need it after even a minor accident. It is important to seek out the right care immediately, as injuries left untreated can be more difficult to treat as time passes.
Do not make your body an after thought, make it a priority. Don't wait until after you're done dealing with car repairs, insurance companies, car rentals, lawyers, and police officers, be sure to take care of the most important thing involved in the accident: YOU!
How important is your life outside of your chiropractic care?

Imagine this: a person who smokes develops pneumonia and decides to go to their local walk-in clinic. The doctor tells them that in order to recover, they need to quit smoking. If they don't, they'll never have proper lung function again. If they quit smoking and start with the treatment, they will be fine within 3 months, if they continue smoking, the treatment will take a whole year. Unfortunately, the patient just isn't willing to quit, even for their own health.
I see the chiropractic equivalent of this all the time. People have a bad back because of something that they're doing. I tell them what they need to change in order for the problem to be resolved quickly and more effectively, but they just aren't willing to change their lifestyle in order to fully recover. If only they knew how bad of a decision they're making. If you are ever in the position when your medical doctor or chiropractor gives you that sort of ultimatum, be sure weigh out the consequences before making a decision!
Is your health care green?

We have gone "green" in every aspect of our daily lives, but what about when it comes to our own health?
Isn't it ironic that we care so much about the environment that we're willing to go out of our way to be more green, but take unnecessary prescription medications that can have harmful effects on our own bodies and couldn't care less, simply because it's easier? Each year, 10 million Canadians are prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs for the relief of pain. Of those 10 million, 366 people die, and 3,897 people are hospitalized. 1 to 3% Of the people prescribed anti-inflammatory meds will have gastrointestinal bleeding and 26% will be prescribed anti-ulcer therapy.
Why pollute your body in such a harmful way? Especially when there are so many far healthier options? It's ludicrous. Someone experiencing chronic neck pain goes into their family doctor and gets an anti-inflammatory medication prescribed. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea , constipation, decreased appetite, rash, dizziness, headache, and drowsiness. They may also cause fluid retention, leading to edema. The most serious side effects are kidney failure, liver failure, ulcers and prolonged bleeding after an injury or surgery. Yes, that seems like a great alternative to chiropractic care, which has very limited side effects.
Why care so much about the planet when you're poisoning yourself with unnecessary prescription medications? The Family Expands.... with Physio!
